HALLOWEEN

The kids had a great party today. We made witches brew (root beer), played pin the wart on the witch, and a pumpkin bean bag toss game. We also made "zombie eyeballs" for snack (thanks to Vivienne and her mom!)

"H" is for HAT

Each child wore a hat to school for hat day. After reading the story "Caps for Sale", we tried to stack up all the hats and carry them like the peddler in the story.

We also made a witch with a hat.

Getting ready for Halloween

As we have been learning about colors, we discovered that if you mix some colors, you get a new one. YELLOW and RED make orange.

We've been enjoying folder games, halloween games, and

dressing up in costumes from the costume box.

"A" is for Apples and Autumn

We sorted leaves by color, made apple prints, and made apple sauce

Take some apples, put them in a pot.
Stir them, stir them, stir them a lot.

Add cinnamon and sugar, and what have you got?

We made some apple sauce.

What a delightful class. The children are so sweet and attentive. They are following the routine well, and learning the preschool rules (BE CLEAN, BE NICE, BE SAFE). They are all very eager helpers and learned the story of the Little Red Hen very well. I hope they were able to remember the story well enough to use their puppets to tell it to you. We've started working on writing our names, have done some basic assessments, made a class book to read at school with pictures of all our preschool friends. We learned about good manners and recited a poem. (Thanks Ms. Karma).

We say 'Thank-you'; we say 'Please'.

We don't interrupt or tease.

We don't argue; we don't fuss.

We listen when folks talk to us.

We share our toys, and take our turns.

Good manners aren't too hard to learn.

It's really easy when you find

Politeness just means being kind.

Graduation

What an amazing year. I can't believe that it has already come to an end. I hope you know what amazing children you have. I get so attached to each one of them and I will miss them so much. Thank you for all your support this year, and for letting me be a little part of your children's lives.

Welcome to our Kingdom

The kids had an amazingly creative time playing in the castle. Princesses, and Kings, and Knights, and Queens were busily engaged in fun adventures. We left it up for two weeks, and they were very sad when it was time to take the castle down.

I can hardly believe the year is coming to an end. We'll see you at graduation!

What's Cookin?

The kids were GREAT kitchen helpers. Hopefully, they've put their chef hats to work and have helped you in the kitchen at home too.
