We are off to an amazing start. Both preschool classes are fabulous. The children are so cooperative and have incredible attention spans for so early in the year. This week we have learned about the preschool rules (BE CLEAN, BE NICE, BE SAFE) and getting used to the daily routine. They are all very eager helpers and learned the story of the Little Red Hen very well. Hopefully they used their puppets to tell you the story. We've started working on writing our names. (It would be great to use the name practice pages at home as a model of correct letter formation.) We've done some basic assessments, made a class book to read at school with pictures of all our preschool friends, and learned about good manners. Here's a great poem (I learned from Ms. Karma in the Tooele School District) about manners. We will be reciting it in class.
We say 'Thank-you'; we say 'Please'.
We don't interrupt or tease.
We don't argue; we don't fuss.
We listen when folks talk to us.
We share our toys, and take our turns.
Good manners aren't too hard to learn.
It's really easy when you find
Politeness just means being kind.
Please remember to send a baby picture of your child next week (it will be returned the same day).
